Oktoberfest

One of my all time favorite things to do is attend Oktoberest up at Snowbird. John first took me there when we were dating and ever since then I look forward to it all year. This year Sara and Dick came along with us. The weather was perfect and the leaves were so pretty! Of course we ate dinner there and it was delicious like always.

While we were eating people were dancing and Eleanor kept watching them. There were a few couples all dressed up and I really wanted Eleanor to dance with one of them. You could tell that Eleanor wanted to get out there and boogie so bad! Sara and I kept trying to coax her into going on the dance floor, but she wouldn't. Finally we both promised to buy her a surprise if she would dance with one of the men all dressed up. She agreed so I asked the man if he wouldn't mind dancing with my little girl. It was the cutest thing ever!! Right when they got on the dance floor the chicken song started playing and the gentleman taught Eleanor the dance. Eleanor would not look at us, but you could tell she was having the time of her life. She was taking it so serious! The two of them danced that entire song together and that is one LONG song!! Everyone around us was getting a kick out of the cute dancing couple! After it was over with Eleanor made sure we took her down to find her surprise. Sara found a cute little purse for her and I found a squishy ball. We had such a good time this year, my expectations for next year are pretty high!

Eleanor's 3rd Birthday!

Today Eleanor turned three!! I know it totally sounds cliche, but I can't believe how fast time flies by! These past three years have been so much fun with Eleanor. This little girl is a PILL!! I swear it feels like she should be having her 16th birthday considering all the attitude this little one has!

Eleanor was so anxious for her birthday this year. I think this is the first year she realized she'll be getting presents, cake and a party. This year we had a small friends party the day before her birthday. This year the theme was 'Candyland'. I didn't really do much for the theme other then her cake (which I just saw a Cake Boss episode where they did a Candyland cake and it put my cake to TOTAL shame!! Sorry, Eleanor!) and a few large lollipops for favors. Sticking to
traditional, we had a large pinata filled with tons of candy.Speaking of the cake, the morning of the party Eleanor decided to eat the entire corner of her cake! I was so upset and told John what she did and his response was, "well, it is her birthday cake". He was right! She had a good time eating it and I did my best to hide it with ice cream cones.
