Halloween 2010

I LOVE the fall! The crisp air, all the fun decorated sugar cookies, pumpkin patches, parties, decorated porches and most of all HALLOWEEN!! Halloween is a huge favorite around our house hold. All year long Eleanor has been telling me what she wants to be for Halloween and each day it changes! This year Eleanor really wanted to be Snow White so we all ended up being something form the story. We dressed up for our ward party and won first prize. I must admit, Eleanor was a stunning Snow White, Amelia was a darling dwarf, John a fabulous mirror on the wall and I was a pretty ugly evil witch. It was fun coming up with every one's costumes and seeing them together.

The weather on Halloween night was horrid. It was cold and rainy so we weren't able to get many photos. John took Eleanor out trick-or-treating and I stayed home with Amelia, Sara, Henry and my Mom. Like every year, I made dinner in a pumpkin and it was delicious We never got around to carving pumpkins, but we had plenty on our door step. I believe by the time Thanksgiving rolled around we had over 10. We also had fun decorating our house. This year Eleanor decided she was a little spooked out with all the fake spiders around (huge change from years past) so we kind of went low key.

Amelia's First Birthday!

I can hardly believe that our little monkey is one!! She is such a fun little girl! So far she is still not walking (which I actually love!) and isn't saying too many words. Her vocabulary includes 'Dad, Hi and Da'. I'm still waiting for the 'Mama' to come out of her mouth! Although she doesn't talk much, she sure knows how to communicate with her smile, cry and laughter!

John had to go to Switzerland for her actual birthday so we didn't do much. It just didn't feel like a birthday without John. We made sure to celebrate right when he got back. It was fun having so much family. We were lucky to have Mimi up from Arizona. Amelia seemed to really enjoy her party. The girl loves being the center of attention and she LOVED her cake. It was so fun watching her destroy her cake. She started with one little pink and within a few minutes she was covered in cake. It was so adorable!

It's our tradition to have fireworks for a first birthday. We didn't get any photos of them, but the fireworks John got were out of hand. It was like a mini little 4th of July show in our backyard! We were all surprised the cops didn't come join the party!

Overall Amelia had a fantastic birthday! I hate seeing her grow so fast, but it's been so much fun watching her little personality develop and shine trough. We are all so in love with this little monkey and so happy to have her. I can't wait to see what fun memories we have together during the coming year! Happy Birthday Amelia!!

This was her inviation that I made. Thanks to Henry for letting us borrow his hat!
This was right before her party. In true Amelia fashion, she found her barret, yanked it out and put it in her mouth.
