Amelia Bedelia

I seriously can not get enough of this little baby! She is growing up so fast and is developing the funniest little personality. She is defiantly a people pleaser! She loves to be the center of attention and doesn't appreciate being left in a room by herself. When you ask her to give you kisses, she'll grab your face and smother it with wet kisses. It's the best! She is sitting up and is eating food. Her favorite is avocado and bananas. She also discovered powder sugar today and couldn't get enough! Her favorite toy is the remote control. She loves to lay in the bathtub and kick her little legs like crazy and splash the water with her arms. She has started babbling and loves to blow spit everywhere! At times if you ask her to "do it again" she will tighten her little fists and make the cutest face. We call it her "show off face". She adores Eleanor and doesn't seem to mind getting mauled by her all day! She gets plenty of kisses from all of us each day and we LOVE her so much!

Eleanor Says the Craziest Things

I am so happy to say that I have been enjoying Eleanor these past few weeks! She has gone from being a little ball of attitude, to a funny and enjoyable little girl! She is constantly saying things that crack me up. Here are a few of my favorite from this week.

Yesterday while driving in the car, Eleanor says, "Heavens! I'm so drama!".

Earlier this week while driving home with Aunt Jay and Uncle Scott, Eleanor tells Zack, "You don't say dumb, and you don't say hate, and you for sure don't say oh shit. They are just not nice words".

While watching a Victoria Secret commercial, Eleanor tells me, "Mom, I want long hair like that. Oh, and I want her swimming suit and her boobs". A few seconds later she adds, "Mom, I also want gray hair".

Don't ask me where she comes up with these things! Yesterday she started swimming lessons and was so excited for it. She actually slept in her swimming suit the night before and asked me every 10 minutes when it was time for her swimming lessons. Around 8 am, I started wishing I had signed her up for the 9:00 am class rather then the 6pm! Let's just say it was a very long day! When we finally got to her lessons, she was beyond excited. I was so proud of her. She did everything her teacher said and even braved the water slide by herself! After her lessons I told her I saw her go down the slide and how awesome she was. She replies with, "I drownded when I went down the slide".

I love this little girl so much and feel so lucky to have her in our family!!

*This photo cracks me up! Her hat is Amelia's little skirt. Eleanor was so excited that it matched her dress and insisted on wearing it all day. She didn't want me taking a photo of her, hence the ornery look on her face.

A Little Scare

Eleanor gave me such a scare today! I was laying on the couch this afternoon and dozed off for a few minutes. The phone rang and I jumped up, but I wasn't jumping up to find the phone. I realized I had fallen asleep and I couldn't hear/see Eleanor. I started yelling her name and running around the house looking for her. I checked outside and couldn't find her. My heart started pounding and every possible worst thought entered my mind. I ran down stairs and still couldn't find her. I then went outside to see if she was in the backyard. Nope! Finally, I went back downstairs and noticed the little crown and book she had been playing with was on the floor. Right then I looked down and found her fast asleep on the little bed she made in our built in. Ahh, I can't explain how happy I was to find her safe!! It's a good thing we haven't put the doors on the entertainment center, or I'd still be searching for that little stinker!

Hanging Out

I'm starting to notice a lot of Amelia's photos are taken while she is laying on my bed and I'm sitting at the computer. I always lay her on my bed while I'm on the computer. She loves me to talk with her and she loves to have Eleanor climb up on the bed and play with her. I'm still having a hard time believing that this little munchkin will be six months on Saturday!

I told her!

All morning Eleanor has been bugging me to let her drink the juice from the little plastic lemon. I kept telling her she would not like it, but of course she insisted she would love it. So, I decided to let her have it. Not to my surprise, she was too stubborn to admit that I was right and that it was disgusting. She just had to take two more drinks to prove me wrong.

Arizona

I'm tired, no exhausted! We left Phoenix this morning at 6:00 am, which meant we had to wake up at 4:00 am in order to get to the airport on time. Luckily, Eleanor went with Aspen to Thanksgiving Point and Amelia and got to take a little nap. We had such a great week down in the Valley of the Sun! The weather was beautiful and Eleanor got to play with all of her cousins. And when I say play, I mean PLAY! There is just something so special about cousins. I loved watching/listening to Lydia and Eleanor play. They both like to be in charge, but were pretty good not to be too bossy with each other. Jonathan and Ty stayed at Mimi's house while Theron and Amanda were in Portugal, which allowed plenty of playing and a few little fights. I had to laugh one night when Eleanor and Ty got in a full on punching fight. Those two can be best of friends one second and worst enemies the next! I love it!

Eleanor went swimming almost everyday. The water was freezing, but she loved it. Amelia even got to experience her first swim. She and Olive both didn't seem to mind the cold water.

Over all, we had such a fun stay. Nothing beats AZ's spring! It was a little depressing coming home to dead grass and wind, but I was anxious to see John and celebrate his big 28th birthday with him!

Easter

This was the first year we've been home for Easter since John and I have been married. We had a great day together as a family. Sara and Dick spent the night and were able to be here while the girls got their Easter baskets. Like usual, I was more excited for Easter morning then Eleanor. I enjoyed putting together her basket and getting things I knew she would love. This year she got a little spoiled. The Easter Bunny got her a scooter, Barbie (it still sickens me to buy Barbies), paper dolls and Little Pet Shops. The cutest thing was watching Eleanor and John playing with the paper dolls. John is such a good dad and loves any opportunity to spend time with his little girls.

After opening baskets I talked to Eleanor why we celebrate Easter and explained to her that Jesus was resurrected. Well, during conference she kept hearing the word "Resurrection" and she was so proud that she understood what it meant. I really enjoyed conference. For me, it was all about parenting and I was grateful for what I learned.

We had our good friends the Hackings over for dinner. The food was fabulous and we enjoyed a few games after dinner. Overall, we had a wonderful Easter (just wish the weather could have been a little nicer!)

Easter Dresses

Growing up I remember hating it when my mom would dress all three of us girls in the same dresses and swore I would never do it to my kids. Well, I just can't resist! I found these cute little dresses in London. I think they are so cute. I only wish Eleanor could give me a normal smile!

Double Take

After the Easter egg hunt we had to run to a few stores to pick up some last things for Easter. While John and Eleanor were in a store, Amelia and had a good time playing. I love Amelia's smile in all of these. She was so pleased with herself!

Earlier this week I was looking at some photos of Eleanor playing in our car. The cute thing is both girls are wearing the same little overall skirt. Eleanor was 6 months and Amelia is 5 months.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Greenbergs had all the family over for an Easter egg hunt and for dinner. It was such a fun evening. Michelle did a really cute scavenger hunt for all the kids and they had hundreds (literately) of eggs to find. Eleanor and Katelyn were adorable. They would not leave each others side. Of course they both only wanted the pink, purple or pok-a-dot eggs. This was the first year Eleanor got on to the purpose of an Easter egg hunt. She stopped to open and eat the candy of only one egg. She thought the hunt was the greatest and loved all her treats!

Amelia and Alex enjoyed spending time in their swings. I can't wait for these two to get a little older and start playing together! My kids are lucky to have so many cousins close in age!
